Are your teachers insured?

All of Mobile Yogi's teachers have, at minimum, a $2 million professional and commercial general liability insurance policy.

What qualifications do your teachers have?

In addition to being experienced instructors and practitioners, all of our teachers have completed at a minimum a 200-hour yoga teacher instructional course. Some have also earned specializations in particular styles of yoga.

I am a (beginner/expert) yogi. Is Mobile Yogi right for me?

Absolutely! One of the great things about private lessons (both for individuals and small groups) is that the teacher is able to tailor the lesson to each participant's level of experience and priorities. Just let us know when you're booking a session how much experience you have with yoga and what you'd like to focus on.

What equipment do I need for my lesson?

The only mandatory equipment is a yoga or pilates mat and comfortable workout clothing. You may also want to have a water bottle, a towel or blocks.

How much space do I need for my lesson? Is my apartment/office too small?

Our teachers are very adept at developing practices that adapt to a wide range of requirements -- including limited space. Technically, the only space you need is enough to fit your mat and those of any other participants, as well as your teacher's, with a few inches of clearance between each person. Ideally, though, each person will have the equivalent of two yoga mats (side by side) of space.

I have an injury or physical limitations. Is yoga right for me?

Mobile Yogi's teachers create custom lesson plans for each client, incorporating their priorities and limitations. Many people find yoga to be an effective form of or supplement to physical therapy. That said, we strongly recommend consulting with a doctor or medical professional to determine if you should practice yoga.

Where will Mobile Yogi meet with me?

Our current area of service stretches from UBC to Main Street, and from downtown to 41st Avenue (and we plan on expanding soon!). Within that area, Mobile Yogi will come wherever is most convenient for you, so long as it meets our modest space requirements (see above). Small apartments, houses, rented studios or event halls, and offices all are great choices!

What if I need to cancel a lesson?

We understand that things sometimes things come up, and schedules change. So long as you cancel 18 hours or more before through your Mobile Yogi scheduling account, you'll receive a full refund. If you cancel between 18 and 6 hours prior to your lesson, you'll receive a 50% refund. In the interest of respecting our teachers' time, any cancellations made less than six hours prior to a lesson will not be refunded.

What if my teacher cancels or doesn't show up?

Although our teachers make every effort to arrive at every lesson with time to spare, they aren't always able to. Inclement weather, traffic, and illness can all contribute to delays or cancellations. If one of our teachers tells us ahead of time that they won't be able to make it to a lesson, we will attempt to find a substitute instructor (and will inform you of this change). Otherwise, we will contact you to attempt to reschedule the lesson at no additional charge. If a reschedule isn't possible or desired, we will issue you a full refund.
